Leadership Spotlight: James Perkins, Chief of Staff
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to a leadership role?
Make sure you are doing it for the right reason(s). Leadership is about more than a title, increased pay or a nice office, it’s about the people you work with and the customers we serve.
What is your leadership philosophy?
Take care of the people you are responsible for so they can take care of the work we do. Clear out obstacles for others to be successful, and then celebrate their achievements.
What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Fishing and Photography are two of my hobbies.
How do you build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners?
Most importantly when working with folks is to be honest and genuine. Never make promises that you can’t keep. Treat them with respect. These things work no matter what the relationship is.
