Belshe provides oversight for the university’s safety and security programs and key auxiliary business units. Among these units are the Virginia Tech Police Department, Virginia Tech Emergency Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Virginia Tech Rescue Squad, Transportation Services, and Mail Services. Central to her efforts are fostering strong partnerships and collaboration with university leaders; university community members; and local, state, and government officials associated with campus health, safety, security, compliance, transportation, and infrastructure.

Belshe earned a master’s degree in organizational sciences from George Washington University and holds a bachelor’s degree in leadership studies from the University of Richmond. Prior to Virginia Tech, she served as senior associate vice president of operations at Syracuse University, where she lead day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives within the Division of Business, Finance, and Administrative Services. Prior to Syracuse University, Belshe served at George Washington University for 12 years in senior administrative positions. Previously, she was a leader in management consulting specializing in business transformation.
