Perkins earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Virginia Tech in 1992, where he was also a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Highty-Tighties. Prior to returning to Virginia Tech, he was the Executive Director of University Services at Radford University, where he served for 26 years.
The Chief of Staff is a key member of the division’s leadership team. The Chief is the principle aide, advisor, and analyst to the Vice President, serving as an essential operational and strategic liaison with constituents and providing leadership for initiatives, special projects and communications with institution-wide impact.
The Chief of Staff is responsible for the following units:
- Human Resources
- Communications
- Administrative Support
